Our client is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Paralegal - Legal Secretary with a focus on Banking. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, where you will be instrumental in supporting various banking transactions. The role offers the chance to collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, providing general administrative support and engaging with clients and external parties.

What you'll do:

As a Paralegal - Legal Secretary in the Banking sector, your role will be multifaceted. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support, including drafting based on precedents, reviewing legal documents, and coordinating with clients. Your attention to detail will be essential when preparing ancillary documents, filing registrations, and handling e-stamping procedures. Additionally, you will utilise your skills to obtain business profiles, issue legal opinions, proofread documents, and prepare execution instructions. Your ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards will ensure success in this role.

  • Provide general administrative support to fee-earners including simple drafting based on precedents, reviewing and proof-reading legal documents.
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients and external parties in accordance with instructions from fee-earners.
  • Draft simple ancillary documents such as checklists, notices, corporate approvals etc.
  • Prepare and file ACRA registrations and deregistrations.
  • Prepare online forms for e-stamping of documents.
  • Attend to E-stamping of documents such as share charge and/or debenture.
  • Obtain business profile and run cause book searches with e-litigation platform.
  • Engross and issue legal opinions.
  • Proofread and format documents.
  • Prepare execution versions of loan and security documents and prepare execution instructions.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Paralegal - Legal Secretary (Banking) position brings a wealth of experience from the legal industry, preferably with a focus on the Banking / Finance sector. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively liaise with clients and external parties, while your analytical and problem-solving abilities will be crucial in navigating complex banking transactions. Proficiency in computer skills is essential, as is the ability to work both independently and within a team. A proactive approach, excellent organisational skills, and meticulous attention to detail are key to succeeding in this role.

  • Experience as a legal secretary supporting a banking partner is highly desirable.
  • At least two years' related working experience in the legal industry, preferably with prior experience in the Banking / Finance sector.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing environments.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Proficiency in computer skills is necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Proactive team player who can take initiative when needed.
  • Well organised; able to work under pressure to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and meticulous approach to work.
