Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their team in Singapore. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on hunting for new business opportunities and building strong relationships with customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for positioning the firm's ocean freight capabilities. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you can utilise your skills and experience to make a real impact.

As a Business Development Manager, you will target and hunt for new business opportunities within the company's focused industries. You will be responsible for closing ocean freight business deals and building strong relationships with customers. Your understanding of customer supply chains will enable you to identify pain points and sell the right solutions. You will also maintain good relationships with existing clients, continuously improving profitability while identifying new business opportunities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Identify target customers in focused industries
  • Hunt and close ocean freight business deals
  • Build up relationships with customers and identify opportunities that fit into the company's capabilities and competencies
  • Understand customer supply chains, identify pain points, and sell the right solutions
  • Maintain good relationships with existing clients, continuously improve profitability, and identify new business opportunities
  • Ensure timely and accurate reports of target accounts, opportunities, and sales calls
  • Follow up on accounts receivable and ensure timely payment from customers

The ideal candidate for the Business Development Manager position brings a minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial role with rich knowledge of supply chain logistics. Your excellent communication and presentation skills will enable you to prospect and target customers effectively. Your analytical skills will be crucial in understanding operational processes, while your established network of customer and business relationships will be invaluable. Relevant work experience in a supply chain division of an MNC or 3PL would be advantageous.

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a commercial role with rich knowledge of supply chain logistics and local market practice
  • Prospecting and targeting customers in focused products
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Good knowledge in both international and domestic logistics
  • Established network of customer and business relationships
  • Relevant work experience in a supply chain division of an MNC or 3PL
