A leading global law firm is seeking a Business Development Manager to join their Capital Markets team in Singapore, with a particular focus on Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and support for the Financial Restructuring Group (FRG). What you'll do:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans for Capital Markets with a particular emphasis on Debt Capital Markets while also supporting Financial Restructuring Group initiatives.
  • Align local business development activities with global strategies to ensure consistency and maximise opportunities for growth across all practice areas.
  • Build and maintain strong networks within global business development teams as well as the broader marketing function to facilitate knowledge sharing and interconnectivity.
  • Identify new opportunities for cross-selling by collaborating closely with wider global practice teams and leveraging market intelligence.
  • Provide high-quality input into win strategies including pitch documents and panel submissions for Capital Markets matters to help secure new mandates.
  • Drive relationships with sector-focused business development teams to foster growth in priority sectors through targeted go-to-market campaigns.
  • Leverage data-driven insights for horizon scanning, opportunity spotting, pipeline management, and proactive client engagement within Capital Markets.
  • Gather and analyse market information as well as client feedback to inform ongoing business development strategies and monitor external trends relevant to the practice area.
  • Utilise technology platforms, tools, and data infrastructure to generate actionable insights that support targeted business development activities.
  • Ensure alignment with global processes by maximising the use of shared resources and tools available throughout the organisation.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in business development within legal services or related professional services environments focused on capital markets or similar practice areas.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective business development strategies aligned with organisational goals.
  • Experience identifying growth opportunities through collaboration across global teams while driving interconnectivity between offices.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in leveraging data insights for informed decision-making in business development activities.
  • Ability to provide strategic input into pitch documents and panel submissions that contribute towards winning new mandates.
  • Experience building productive relationships with sector teams to facilitate cross-selling opportunities across different practice groups.
  • Knowledge of utilising technology platforms, tools, and data infrastructure to enhance the effectiveness of business development initiatives.
