You will be empowered to manage the entire sales cycle, from prospecting and solution design through negotiation, closing, and handover, while collaborating closely with Applications, Service, Marketing, and global headquarters teams.

What you'll do:

As a Sales Engineer based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of advanced metrology solutions among targeted customers throughout Southeast Asia. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve engaging directly with clients to understand their unique process requirements and designing bespoke technical proposals that address their challenges. You will lead field sales initiatives by organising site visits, facilitating access to customer facilities for demonstrations or evaluations, and presenting compelling value propositions. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail when managing pricing strategies and contract negotiations as well as seamless coordination with internal teams for smooth delivery and installation of solutions. By actively participating in industry events and maintaining disciplined reporting through CRM tools, you will contribute significantly to achieving ambitious business objectives while fostering long-term customer partnerships.

  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of target accounts by identifying new business opportunities and expanding existing customer relationships within the region.
  • Diagnose customer process and application needs to craft tailored technical and commercial proposals that include demonstration plans, proof-of-concept activities, and sample evaluations.
  • Lead all field sales activities such as on-site visits, coordinating access to fabrication lines or facilities, delivering presentations, and conducting product demonstrations to showcase value.
  • Manage pricing strategies, negotiate terms with customers, execute contracts efficiently, and maintain accurate forecasting to meet quarterly and annual targets.
  • Coordinate closely with headquarters and regional teams on scheduling demonstrations, defining scopes of work, overseeing delivery logistics, installation processes, and ensuring successful acceptance of solutions.
  • Plan and execute joint activities with distributors and partners; monitor performance metrics and follow up diligently to maximise results from collaborative efforts.
  • Represent the organisation at trade shows, seminars, workshops, and other industry events while following up on marketing-generated leads to convert interest into sales.
  • Report all sales activities and outcomes in CRM systems with discipline; consistently achieve order intake, revenue goals, and key performance indicators set by management.

What you bring:

To excel as a Sales Engineer in this organisation you will bring substantial experience in B2B equipment sales gained through regular face-to-face interactions with customers across Southeast Asia. Your background should include interpreting complex specifications mapping technical requirements onto real-world applications coordinating impactful product demonstrations or proof-of-concept projects. A solid academic foundation in engineering or science equips you with the knowledge needed for success while your excellent communication skills allow you to connect meaningfully with clients at every level. Familiarity with CRM systems ensures you can manage pipelines forecast accurately report progress reliably. Experience selling advanced metrology instruments—especially those used in semiconductor manufacturing—is highly valued along with a consultative mindset focused on delivering measurable ROI. Your ability to foster collaborative relationships internally externally will help drive sustained business growth while your willingness to travel supports dynamic engagement throughout the region.

  • 5–7 years’ proven experience in B2B equipment sales within Southeast Asia involving frequent direct customer engagement at client sites.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise in technical sales including specification interpretation, process mapping for applications, and coordination of product demonstrations or proof-of-concept trials.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science (such as Materials Science, Electronics Engineering, Physics or Chemistry) or equivalent practical experience relevant to the sector.
  • Exceptional business communication skills in English both written and spoken enabling clear articulation of complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (up to 50%) across Singapore and Southeast Asia for customer meetings or field activities as required by business needs.
  • Proficiency using CRM platforms (such as Salesforce) for disciplined pipeline management forecasting accuracy reporting activities effectively.
  • Experience selling metrology instruments including atomic force microscopy (AFM), surface metrology tools or related inspection equipment specifically targeting semiconductor industry clients is highly desirable.
  • Consultative approach to value-based selling linking technology solutions directly to measurable return on investment for customers.
  • Ability to build strong multi-level relationships from engineers through executive stakeholders ensuring consistent engagement that drives adoption expansion of solutions offered.
  • Track record of effective cross-functional collaboration with internal teams such as Applications Service Marketing as well as external partners distributors.
