An exciting, newly-created Head of New Business Development & Trade Marketing job has just become available at an internationally recognised family company. Reporting to the Senior Vice-President for Asia, you will join a team that will take the business to the next level.

About the Head of New Business Development & Trade Marketing Role:
In this business critical role, you will drive growth in high-potential Asian markets and establish best-in-class trade marketing approaches across the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and operationally manage business in assigned markets to deliver the end-to-end P&L from gross sales to contribution margin
• Accelerate business eight times across assigned region within four to five years
• Steadily improve profitability across each and every market
• Strategically evaluate WTP (Where to Play) across Asia for the best high potential markets for acceleration
• Develop HTW (How to Win) for selected markets with a sustainable business model including go-to-market strategies, right partners, 5P with a lean structure
• Build consumer-centric marketing approach in collaboration with marketing teams and external partners
• Successfully launch and/or accelerate the business into steady state for potential handover
• Lead the local distributor teams as if they are an extended part of the organisation improving their performance and capability
• Ensure compliance with company standards such as financial, legal, regulatory and quality standards
• Build the strategic sales capability internally and externally with best-in-class approaches (shopper focus, channelisation, concept selling, etc.)
• Bring AVA (Availability, Visibility and Activation) framework to life by establishing an approach that gets embedded into distributor by enabling the heads of region
• Develop winning regional strategies and help local markets implement plans in a shopper-centric way, with definition of the product portfolio, the pricing, promotion strategy and distribution priorities
• Create systems, processes and reports that can enable and track progress and improve impact/ROI
• Identify best practices in the region/global for inspiring re-application (e.g. Promotion ROI, Visibility devices by Channel)
• Drive excellence in shopper and trade marketing and better ROI plans

To succeed in the Head of New Business Development & Trade Marketing role, you will be business-focused, entrepreneurial and driven.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 12 years’ experience in commercial management positions within the FMCG industry in Asia Pacific
• Minimum of five years’ experience in relevant Asia markets and flair for shopper and consumer orientation
• Experience in influencing senior stakeholders, negotiation and in operationalising strategies
• Experience in successfully managing a network of distributors
• Experience in successfully managing key account retailers, both offline and online
• Experience in effective people leadership – externally and internally
• Current or prior experience in trade marketing roles at regional level
• Ability to operate in a VUCA world with limited information and support
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to work across markets and cultures
• Ability to travel regularly
