What you'll do:

You will play an integral role in facilitating seamless cross-border operations by leveraging your deep understanding of international trade regulations. Your daily activities will involve close interaction with customs brokers and government agencies to ensure smooth customs clearance processes. You will use advanced tools such as SAP GTS to manage shipments efficiently while maintaining meticulous records of all import/export transactions. Your proactive approach will help identify potential risks early on, allowing you to implement effective solutions that safeguard the organisation’s interests. By participating in training sessions and collaborating with global teams, you will contribute significantly to the continuous improvement of trade compliance programmes. Your ability to monitor regulatory changes and maintain accurate product data will be essential in supporting business growth while upholding the highest standards of compliance.

* Act as a subject matter expert supporting day-to-day export and import operational transactions throughout the AMEA region, ensuring all activities comply with relevant regulations.

* Collaborate closely with customs brokers in the APJ region to facilitate timely and accurate customs clearances for shipments moving across borders.

* Utilise SAP Global Trade Services (GTS) for effective shipment management, including SPL block release, license management, and comprehensive reporting functions.

* Engage proactively with local governmental agencies to resolve any import or export holds that may arise during operational processes.

* Identify, assess, and mitigate import/export risks by implementing best practices and maintaining vigilance over regulatory changes within the AMEA region.

* Support the establishment and enforcement of robust internal controls designed to uphold high standards of trade compliance across all business units.

* Participate actively in trade compliance training initiatives for both internal teams and external partners to ensure consistent understanding of regulatory requirements.

* Collaborate with global stakeholder teams to develop and implement new trade compliance processes and innovative initiatives tailored for the AMEA region.

* Monitor and interpret new customs/trade regulations and laws affecting operations in the AMEA region, ensuring ongoing compliance with evolving requirements.

* Maintain accurate trade data for all products including ECCNs, HTS codes, Country of Origin details, valuation metrics, and invoice accuracy to guarantee compliant customs clearance.

What you bring:

To excel as a Trade Compliance operator in this organisation, you will bring extensive experience gained from managing import/export operations within diverse regulatory landscapes. Your educational background equips you with analytical skills necessary for interpreting complex trade laws while your hands-on experience ensures practical application of these principles. You will have experience delivering FTA and FTA related projects and will possess an empathetic communication style that fosters positive relationships with both external partners and internal teams. Your attention to detail is matched by your ability to organise large volumes of data accurately—a skill vital for maintaining compliant records. Your proficiency with SAP ECC functions further enhances your capability to streamline shipment management processes. Above all else, your commitment to collaborative problem-solving with cross functional teams makes you an invaluable asset who consistently supports shared goals across.

* Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Trade Compliance, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration provides a solid foundation for success in this role.

* At least 8 years’ experience in import/export operations with a strong focus on trade compliance and logistics demonstrates your proven track record in managing complex regulatory environments.

* Comprehensive working knowledge of Singapore customs regulations as well as experience navigating Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Australian import/export requirements ensures regional expertise.

* Familiarity with US/APJ Export Control regulations allows you to operate confidently within global frameworks governing international trade.

* Expertise in HTS code classification for products moving through the AMEA region supports accurate documentation and efficient customs processing.

* Proficiency with SAP ECC functions enables you to manage shipments effectively using industry-standard technology platforms.

* Thorough understanding of customs valuation principles and Country of Origin requirements ensures precise recordkeeping and regulatory adherence.

* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills allow you to interact considerately with external partners, government agencies, and internal stakeholders alike.

* Detail-oriented approach combined with high organisational skills empowers you to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously without compromising quality or accuracy.

* Ability to adapt quickly to rapid change while maintaining effective time management ensures you remain dependable even under pressure.
