Our client, a global leader in cold chain / food supplies and management, is seeking a seasoned Senior Manager to lead their procurement and cargo claims department. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive ocean freight strategies towards profitable growth and strategic direction of the organisation. With a competitive salary range of $144,000 - $180,000, you will be in a senior leadership role reporting directly into the Regional Vice President.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Manager in Procurement & Cargo Claims, you will be at the forefront of driving ocean freight strategies towards profitable growth. Your expertise will be crucial in developing partnerships with carriers and vendors, ensuring the delivery of best value to our customers. You will also oversee the marine-cargo claims management process, ensuring a fair and compliant claim process amongst all parties involved. Leading your team, you will foster high levels of initiative and motivation while ensuring optimal performance.

• Develop and drive overall ocean freight strategies and budget in compliance with Procurement Policy and GOFC guidelines.
• Act as subject matter expert on industry changes, market situation and customer requirements.
• Manage mid-long term partnerships with carriers and vendors for all modes of ocean freight transport.
• Lead negotiation with carriers to ensure optimal profitability.
• Support teams with local / spot buying rates, consolidate opportunities, and advise capacity constraints.
• Oversee team handling marine claims from first notification to settlement and recovery.
• Lead team members across ocean & land freight, claims and recovery, to promote high levels of initiative and motivation.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Senior Manager role brings more than a decade's worth of industry knowledge in ocean freight. Your strong business acumen coupled with your established network within the industry will be key in driving our client's procurement strategy. Your technical knowledge in handling marine cargo and liability claims will be invaluable in overseeing the claims management process. A Bachelor's degree in Management, Business or Commerce is required for this role.

• More than 10 years of market and industry knowledge in ocean freight & cold chain
• Strong business acumen with good network and rapport with local carriers and vendors.
• Knowledge of Bill of Lading and marine insurance.
• Technical knowledge and experience in handling marine cargo and liability claims.
• Ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of policy wordings, clauses etc.
• Bachelor degree in Management, Business or Commerce.
