The role offers hands-on involvement with a diverse team, where your commitment to nurturing a safe and inclusive environment will be highly valued. You will play a pivotal part in implementing health and safety policies, supporting colleagues at all levels, and promoting a culture of care and responsibility. With access to ongoing training opportunities and flexible working arrangements, this position provides the perfect platform for personal growth and professional development within a supportive network.

  • Join a globally recognised organisation committed to creating the safest possible workplace for all employees, where your efforts directly contribute to the wellbeing of every team member.

  • Be part of an inclusive team that values your input, encourages open communication, and supports your career progression through generous pension contributions and continuous learning initiatives.

What you'll do:

As a Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator, you will be immersed in day-to-day activities that champion employee wellbeing across the fulfilment centre. Your role will involve close collaboration with operational teams to ensure that health and safety policies are not only implemented but also embraced by all staff members. You will take ownership of conducting regular inspections, identifying risks before they become issues, and driving continuous improvement through proactive engagement. By supporting managers in their responsibilities and leading impactful safety campaigns, you will foster an environment where everyone feels responsible for each other's welfare. Your ability to communicate effectively across departments will be key as you deliver essential training sessions, participate in audits, manage recordkeeping tasks, and respond swiftly to unplanned events. Success in this role means being a dependable resource who inspires trust while maintaining meticulous attention to detail in every aspect of workplace health and safety.

  • Partner closely with fulfilment centre operations teams to implement established health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with local and regional regulations.
  • Train and assist floor managers in fulfilling their workplace health and safety responsibilities, fostering a culture of safety throughout the site.
  • Conduct daily safety inspections alongside area managers and team leaders, proactively identifying hazards or unsafe conditions and facilitating prompt resolution.
  • Support the revision of risk assessments, safety procedures, work instructions, and training content in collaboration with the Workplace Health and Safety Manager.
  • Participate actively in management safety walks, providing valuable insights into unsafe acts or conditions to drive improvements across the fulfilment centre.
  • Monitor changes on the fulfilment centre floor, initiating reviews of risk assessments as needed to maintain high standards of safety.
  • Track the closure of inspection actions, escalating unresolved issues to the Workplace Health and Safety Manager for effective problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with Learning & Development teams to monitor completion of legally required health and safety training matrices, delivering specific training sessions as directed.
  • Assist in injury investigations by monitoring completion of agreed action plans within established procedures, ensuring thorough follow-up on incidents.
  • Lead safety campaigns and communication activities in partnership with HR, Learning & Development, and operations teams, utilising various media channels to promote awareness.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Workplace Health and Safety Coordinator will be evident through your qualifications in workplace safety management combined with practical exposure to operational environments. You bring an empathetic approach that helps nurture positive relationships across teams while remaining sensitive to individual needs. Your technical proficiency with office software supports efficient recordkeeping and reporting tasks. You excel at communicating complex information clearly, whether delivering training or collaborating on incident investigations—and your organisational skills ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Your adaptability allows you to thrive amid shifting priorities while maintaining composure under pressure. Above all else, your commitment to supporting others makes you an invaluable asset who contributes meaningfully towards building a safer workplace for everyone.

  • Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health is required for this position to ensure you have foundational expertise in regulatory compliance.
  • At least a Diploma Certificate is necessary so you can demonstrate academic achievement relevant to workplace health and safety practices.
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential for managing documentation efficiently; internal software training will be provided as needed.
  • Understanding upstream and downstream processes enables you to appreciate how different operational areas interact within the fulfilment centre environment.
  • Effective time management skills are crucial so you can balance multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills allow you to build trust with colleagues at all levels; strong verbal and written communication ensures clarity when sharing information or delivering training.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills help you assess risks accurately; problem-solving abilities enable you to resolve issues promptly as they arise.
  • Adaptability is highly valued so you can respond positively to changing circumstances within fast-moving environments.
