ENGINEERING MANAGER Salary: 150,000 > 180,000 + package Location: Singapore Keywords: Engineering, Manager, Medical Device Industry, Manufacturing, Product Transfer, NPI, Mass Production An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Engineering Manager to join a leading contract manufacturer in the Medical Device Industry. The successful candidate will be directly responsible for a multi-disciplinary team of technical and operational personnel.

What you'll do:

As an Engineering Manager, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Engineering Teams and developing them to meet the challenging requirements of the Medical Device Industry. You will drive improvements in equipment and facilities performance while managing a diverse array of engineering-related projects end to end from NPI to sustaining production to equipment maintenance. Your role will also involve ensuring the execution of Lean manufacturing principles throughout the plant and driving engineering-based value improvement and cost reduction projects.

* Manage the Engineering Team and develop them to meet the challenging requirements of the Medical Device Industry.

* Drive improvement in equipment and facilities performance in a sustainable and methodical manner.

* Manage diverse array of Engineering related projects and safety systems.

* Ensure execution of Lean manufacturing Principles throughout the plant.

* Drive Engineering based Value Improvement and Cost Reduction projects.

* Liaise with all other departments and functions to ensure all Engineering expectations are met on time.

* Manage capital projects ensuring compliance, on time delivery, within budget and meeting specification with minimum disruption to business operations.

* Plan, organise, direct and control project activities and resources to meet defined project, site and engineering objectives.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Engineering Manager position will bring a wealth of experience from the Medical Device Industry and ideally experienced in a contract manufacturer environment. You should hold a Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) with at least 8 years management experience including 4 – 5 years in a medical device manufacturing environment. Your expertise should include balloon catheter, or disposable minimally invasive devices more generally, manufacturing and engineering. Proficiency utilizing engineering tools such as FMEA, DOE, SPC, and statistical tools. Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 9001/EN 46001, ISO13485 and the Medical Device Directives is essential.

* Degree in Engineering (or equivalent experience) with at least 8 years management experience

* 4 – 5 years experience in a medical device manufacturing environment

* 3 – 4 years of experience in balloon catheter manufacturing and engineering or disposable minimally invasive devices more generally

* Contract Manufacturer experience

* Proficiency utilizing engineering tools (i.e. FMEA, DOE, SPC, statistical tools)

* Knowledge of GMPs, ISO 9001/EN 46001, ISO13485 and the Medical Device Directives

* Prior manufacturing and product line transfer experience

* Certified Six Sigma Green / Black Belt is preferred

* Excellent communication skills with demonstrated leadership ability
