- Drive impactful projects in new mobilities and retail, including more than 100 retail station developments and 50 solar projects annually.
- Enjoy flexible working opportunities, access to extensive training resources, and the chance to collaborate with knowledgeable professionals from diverse backgrounds.
What you'll do:
As a Technical Engineer, you will immerse yourself in a multifaceted role that bridges technical oversight with collaborative project delivery across a vast geographical area. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve reviewing investment files for major infrastructure projects, participating in design discussions with affiliate teams, defining robust procedures that uphold the highest HSE standards, and ensuring these are consistently applied throughout all stages of project deployment. You will also play a crucial role in implementing framework contracts that streamline procurement processes across multiple countries. During project execution phases, your expertise will be called upon to organise site visits that provide direct support to local teams. By developing comprehensive action plans tailored to each affiliate’s unique context—and validating their objectives—you will help drive operational excellence while maintaining flexibility in approach. Monitoring progress through KPIs will allow you to proactively address challenges as they arise. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted advisor on technical matters for both ongoing operations and new initiatives. A key aspect of your role will be coordinating training efforts designed to elevate the capabilities of affiliate staff via digital communities such as webinars or online forums. Through these varied activities, you will ensure that every project not only meets but exceeds expectations for quality, safety, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Review and approve the technical aspects of investment proposals submitted by affiliates to ensure alignment with group engineering standards.
- Participate actively in the design phase of new mobility and retail projects while coordinating closely with local teams to guarantee seamless project development.
- Define, communicate, and enforce both global and local procedures related to health, safety, environment (HSE), technical standards, tools, and documentation required for successful project deployment.
- Implement framework contracts across affiliates, ensuring all parties are aware of their obligations and leveraging best practices for procurement efficiency.
- Organise on-site assistance visits to affiliates during project execution phases to provide hands-on support and guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with affiliate teams to develop structured action plans that include clear objectives, internal organisation strategies, resource allocation, and tool implementation.
- Validate country-specific objectives for each project while constructively challenging targets related to project numbers, design typologies, and solution selection.
- Monitor progress using key performance indicators (KPIs), identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and offer targeted support to help affiliates achieve their goals.
- Act as the subject matter expert for all technical activities related to both projects and operations within the region.
- Coordinate training programmes in partnership with headquarters teams to enhance the technical skills of affiliate staff through webinars, digital platforms, and interactive sessions.
What you bring:

Familiarity with international engineering standards is important given the need for consistent application across diverse affiliates. Your ability to work effectively within multicultural settings will be critical as you navigate varying cultural contexts throughout Asia-Pacific, Middle East, and East Africa. Pedagogical skills are essential since you’ll be responsible for upskilling affiliate staff through both traditional training methods and digital platforms like webinars or online forums. Experience gained within large organisations equips you with insights into cross-border collaboration while your history of supporting continuous improvement initiatives reflects your dedication to achieving operational excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related discipline is essential for success in this position.
- A minimum of three to five years’ proven experience managing construction or maintenance within retail or new mobility sectors is highly desirable.
- Hands-on familiarity with computerised maintenance management systems enables efficient oversight of complex technical operations.
- Knowledge of international engineering procedures—including design norms and equipment standards—will be highly valued in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multicultural teams across different countries fosters effective communication and collaboration within diverse environments.
- Strong pedagogical skills are necessary for training users on products, processes or equipment both face-to-face and through digital channels such as webinars or online communities.
