Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Manager for their Technology Scouting and Partnerships division. This role is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of innovation in the sustainability, building, and food industries. You will be responsible for developing and implementing the company's innovation strategy, managing technology scouting, and fostering external partnerships on a regional basis. This role offers the chance to work on transformative projects, ensuring they align with sustainability goals and meet set timelines.
What you'll do:
Your primary responsibility will be to develop and implement the company's innovation strategy, keeping it aligned with overall business objectives. You will also be tasked with identifying future market trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to anticipate future needs in the sustainability/building/food industry. A significant part of your role will involve managing technology scouting and fostering strategic partnerships with government agencies, universities, research institutions, and startups in order to establish collaborative research partners.
* Map, target and network across potential Government, private and institutional research partners to facilitate collaborative and long term research projects
* Develop and implement R&D’s innovation strategy in alignment with overall company goals.
* Analyze customer needs and market demands to identify areas where innovation can deliver competitive advantage.
* Monitor technological developments, emerging scientific research, and competitive activity in the industry.
* Manage multiple transformative innovation projects simultaneously.
* Ensure that all innovation initiatives are aligned with sustainability goals.
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Manager - Technology Scouting and Partnerships role brings a wealth of experience in innovation, product development or R&D within the sustainability/built/food industry and will have a materials science background. You will have developed a deep understanding of market trends and customer needs which allows you to identify areas where innovation can deliver competitive advantage. Your strong project management skills enable you to manage multiple transformative innovation projects simultaneously while meeting set guidelines for approvals, milestones, budgets, and timelines. Your excellent communication skills allow you to articulate innovation strategies and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
* Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Materials Science, or a related field.
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in innovation, product development, or R&D in the sustainability/built/food industry.
* Good knowledge of the innovation ecosystem in Singapore/RAP.
* Ability to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* Results-driven approach with a focus on delivering tangible business outcomes.
* Experience in building innovation ecosystems to create value for the sustainability/built/food industry.
