A leading chemical distribution firm is seeking a Regional Application Development Director. In this job, you will strategise, plan, lead and drive all technical aspects of the application and development centres, and support the growth and strategy of the business.
About the Regional Application Development Director Role:
In this position, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and productive development process of strategies and applications used in a company, direct and guide the managers, and review different project requests, timelines, and costs. You will also develop, distribute, support, enforce, and integrate best practices and technology standards across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product innovation projects to support the business in the APAC region
- Lead multiple/complex new product development and co-manufacture projects from strategic concept to commercialisation
- Develop proof-of-concept prototypes with an integrated ingredient approach and to grow focus ingredient and high-growth segments to support and drive new sales revenues
- Ensure delivery of the projects within the given time frame and budget
- Promote a high-performance environment, and continuous development
- Develop new products in compliance with the highest standards
- Evaluate research results and provide recommendations
- Drive vision, strategy, and work processes as well as resources, CAPEX to align and support business growth
- Continue to improve work processes that deliver solutions to generate sales from initiatives generated, supplier and customer-driven product development projects with project management tools
To succeed in this Regional Application Development Director role, you will need to have strong interpersonal communication skills. Along with a high level of management skills to oversee the department. You must also be committed to achieve efficient and safe operations in line with the company’s high level of standards.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in food science/food technology, or relevant discipline from a recognised university
- Minimum of 15 years of work experience in a similar R&D role in the FMCG industry
- High-level technical knowledge
- Excellent project management skills, and the capability to engage well across functional groups
- Solid writing skills to write reports, training, and procedural materials
- Ability to set priorities and manage time effectively
- Ability to travel as required to achieve business objectives
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, a good team player in a multicultural environment
