Legal Counsel - Commodities Trading

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Legal Counsel with a focus on Commodities Trading. This role is based in the vibrant city of Singapore and offers the chance to work within a dynamic, international team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on complex legal matters related to commodities trading, providing strategic advice and guidance.

What you'll do:

As a Legal Counsel specialising in Commodities Trading, your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing expert legal advice on complex trading matters.

• Provide legal advice and support on commodities trading matters
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts and agreements
• Manage legal risk within the business
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations
• Liaise with external counsel as required
• Support the development of legal policies and procedures

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Legal Counsel - Commodities Trading role will bring proven experience from a similar position.

• At least 3 years of experience in private practice or in-house roles with commodity, coal, steel, oil and gas experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of laws and regulations related to commodities trading
• Excellent negotiation skills and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to speak/write in Mandarin is an advantage due to business needs
