HR Risk and Control - Assistant Manager

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented HR Risk and Control Assistant Manager to contribute to the overall success of their Human Resources team in Asia Pacific. This role offers an exciting opportunity to ensure that all activities are conducted in compliance with relevant employment regulations, internal policies, and procedures. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management to manage risk effectively.

What you'll do:

As an HR Risk and Control Assistant Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our client's Human Resources team in Asia Pacific. You will be responsible for assisting in HR compliance/governance activities, supporting various control initiatives, providing oversight in the application/cessation of Representatives licenses, supporting regional audit requests and reviews, among others. Your ability to perform HR self-audits on HR processes will be crucial in this role. Additionally, your involvement in Employee Relations investigations process will be key to maintaining a harmonious workplace environment.

  • Assist in HR compliance/governance activities to ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and employment policies
  • Support Risk & Control portfolio in APAC to ensure adherence and alignment to the Bank’s internal policies and procedures
  • Provide oversight in the application/cessation of Representatives licenses and updating of licensed Representatives’ information in MAS portal
  • Support various control initiatives such as F&P attestations, Audit remediation actions plans, HR Self reviews and testing
  • Responsible for the update and maintenance of the Enterprise Regulatory Compliance Management Library for APAC HR
  • Support regional audit requests and reviews, assist with any department audit matters
  • Ensure completion of annual Job Description reviews/updates
  • Perform HR self-audit on HR processes and preparation of testing plan and report
  • Coordinate quarterly HR KRI statistics for Quarterly APAC Core Risk Asia Pacific Committee meetings and other governance reports required
  • Support in Employee Relations investigations process which includes minutes writing, follow-through on processes and drafting of warning letters for impacted employees

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the HR Risk and Control Assistant Manager role will bring a wealth of Human Resources experience, preferably within the banking industry. You will have a strong academic background with a degree or diploma from a recognised institution. Your proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, will be crucial in this role. Your strong communication and interpersonal skills will enable you to effectively liaise with various stakeholders. Your ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks effectively, demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, and work independently on tasks will set you apart. A good understanding of HR labour law, policies, and practices is also required.

  • A University degree/Diploma from a recognized institution is required
  • At least 4-5 years of Human Resources work experience is necessary; experience with HR Shared Services in banking industry will be preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) is essential
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English – both verbal and in writing
  • Strong time-management skills, and ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks as short-timelines are expected
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, and able to work independently on tasks
  • Strong ability to follow-through on projects and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Good understanding of the various controls and processes to provide guidance to the other HR colleagues
  • Passion to review the various processes and to identify process gaps and suggest changes
  • Understanding of HR labour law, policies, and practices
