HR Specialist - 6 months contract

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Specialist to join a globally recognised organisation in Singapore, on a 6 months contract, with the potential for extension. This role is ideal for an HR professional with a strong grounding in core HR operations, who enjoys working in a collaborative, inclusive and high performing environment.

What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Specialist based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in supporting both day-to-day HR operations and strategic projects within a large multinational environment.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll operations, ensuring all processes are accurate and completed within required timelines.
  • Coordinate closely with HR vendors, monitoring their performance while managing contracts and purchase orders across multiple suppliers including outplacement services, insurance, tax, legal support, employee assistance programmes, and immigration.
  • Raise purchase orders for locally initiated benefits and maintain effective relationships with at least eight external suppliers to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Ensure full compliance with local statutory regulations as well as internal company policies, preparing the local entity for government inspections as required.
  • Manage quarterly submissions of mandatory government or statutory reports by liaising with appointed agencies and ensuring timely completion.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding processes including orientation sessions, document collection from employees, and management of physical personnel files among internal stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on employee offboarding procedures in accordance with local requirements to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Champion local HR compliance by conducting audits and delivering training sessions to promote best practices across the organisation.
  • Update and maintain the local employee handbook so it remains current with regulatory changes and organisational policies.
  • Support HR line managers with administrative tasks related to hiring, exits, mobility programmes, benefits administration, and generation of official HR letters.

What you bring:

Your proven experience as a Human Resources Specialist will enable you to excel in this multifaceted role.

  • Demonstrated experience of at least two years in HR operations or payroll management within complex environments where attention to detail is paramount.
  • Proven track record coordinating with external vendors while managing contracts and purchase orders efficiently across multiple suppliers.
  • Comprehensive understanding of local labour laws and statutory requirements relevant to Singapore’s employment landscape.
  • Exceptional communication skills enabling clear interactions with stakeholders at varying levels both internally and externally.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) as well as familiarity with HR software systems used for data management.
  • Strong organisational abilities that allow you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining meticulous records.
  • Ability to work independently when required but also thrive within collaborative team settings where shared goals are prioritised.
  • Professional maturity demonstrated through sound judgement when handling sensitive employee-facing HR cases requiring discretion.
  • Experience operating within structured compliance frameworks or governance environments related to external staff management is considered advantageous.

What sets this company apart:

This organisation stands out for its unwavering commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where every team member feels valued and supported. Employees benefit from flexible working arrangements designed around operational needs rather than rigid schedules—allowing greater autonomy over how they structure their week. Generous leave encashment policies provide additional financial recognition for your hard work alongside discretionary annual bonuses that reward exceptional performance. Supportive leadership ensures open lines of communication at all times; knowledgeable colleagues are always available for advice or mentorship whenever needed. With access to dependable networks both locally and globally, you’ll find yourself part of a community dedicated not just to business success but also personal growth.
