An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Human Resources Business Partner to join a leading international school in Singapore on a two-year contract role. You will play a pivotal role in shaping HR processes across recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee lifecycle events. What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Business Partner in Singapore’s vibrant educational sector, you will immerse yourself in a wide range of responsibilities that span recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee lifecycle events, exit procedures, HR project participation, and ongoing support services.

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment and onboarding activities for your assigned portfolio by discussing staffing needs with hiring managers, advertising vacancies, coordinating interviews, preparing employment contracts, and ensuring seamless induction programmes.
  • Coordinate with payroll specialists for new joiners and manage expatriate hires by liaising with vendors for visa applications, shipping arrangements, and temporary accommodation to ensure smooth relocation experiences.
  • Support your portfolio as the main point of contact for all HR matters by collaborating with school sub-heads and operational department heads regarding staffing requirements, HR advisory services, and employee wellbeing topics.
  • Drive and manage performance management cases within your client groups by working closely with leaders on relevant HR projects and procedures tailored to departmental needs.
  • Process exit procedures for leaving employees by completing terminations, coordinating with payroll specialists, managing offboarding documentation, and ensuring compliance with organisational policies.
  • Work alongside employees, managers, and teams to support life cycle events such as probation reviews, family-friendly leave (maternity, paternity, childcare), annual leave, compassionate leave, training leave, visa renewals, learning & development initiatives, and administrative updates.
  • Participate actively in HR projects led by the team to enhance workplace experiences for yourself, colleagues, and other employees within the school community.
  • Grow your continuing professional development (CPD) by contributing to stand-alone projects that strengthen both individual capabilities and team cohesion.
  • Provide ongoing HR support services as required to ensure all aspects of employee relations are handled efficiently and empathetically.
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information related to employment matters.

What you bring:

To excel as a Human Resources Business Partner in this setting, you will bring substantial experience managing recruitment cycles from start to finish—ensuring every candidate receives considerate attention during selection processes. Your proven track record collaborating with department heads demonstrates your ability to build trust-based relationships that facilitate effective staffing solutions.

  • Hands-on experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes including advertising vacancies, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, preparing contracts, onboarding new hires, and supporting expatriate relocations is essential.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills demonstrated through collaborative work with department heads or leaders on staffing needs and HR advisory services are essential.
  • A strong customer service ethos reflected in your approach to supporting employees throughout their lifecycle events such as probation reviews or leave requests is essential.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills enabling you to engage effectively with colleagues at all levels are essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment and labour laws relevant to Singapore’s educational sector is essential.
  • A high degree of confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive information relating to employment matters is essential.
  • Interchangeable skills between being a dependable team player who collaborates well with others and self-initiation abilities that allow you to take responsibility independently are essential.
  • Self-motivation skills that enable you to proactively address challenges or tasks without constant supervision are essential.
  • Payroll knowledge from a checking perspective is preferred but not mandatory for success in this role.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms is preferred as it supports efficient administration of HR processes within the organisation.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) allowing you to empathise with colleagues’ concerns or needs while maintaining professionalism is essential.
  • 4-10 years of proven experience as an HR Generalist or Business Partner within similar environments is essential.
