Our client, a renowned international school in Singapore, is on the lookout for a compassionate and dedicated Safeguarding Coordinator. This role is at the heart of ensuring the welfare of children, demanding a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding, including child protection, education, and community engagement.

The successful candidate will be entrusted with managing a variety of safeguarding cases from pre-nursery up to grade 12, working closely with families to ensure children's safety and well-being needs are met holistically within the school setting. This role also involves engaging the parent community, sharing the school's safeguarding values, and undertaking proactive work around issues such as physical punishment, child development, and student mental health.

What you'll do:

As our Safeguarding Coordinator, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students. You will be responsible for implementing robust safeguarding policies and procedures that protect students from all forms of harm. Your role will involve responding swiftly to safeguarding concerns by conducting thorough investigations, assessing risk, developing appropriate intervention plans, and providing empathetic support to those involved. You will also be tasked with coordinating effectively with external agencies for efficient case management. Your exceptional communication skills will be crucial in liaising with various stakeholders including parents, guardians, staff members, and external agencies.

  • Implement robust safeguarding policies and procedures to protect students from harm.
  • Conduct thorough investigations, assess risk, and develop appropriate intervention plans in response to any safeguarding concerns or incidents.
  • Manage safeguarding cases diligently, investigate allegations thoroughly, and provide support to students and staff involved in these cases.
  • Provide guidance and support to staff on child welfare and child protection matters compassionately.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote a safe environment for students and staff proactively.
  • Coordinate effectively with external agencies such as social services, police, or child protection services for efficient case management.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Safeguarding Coordinator position brings a wealth of experience in working with children and families in a Safeguarding capacity. You have a minimum of 2 years experience in this field, with a proven track record of managing safeguarding cases and providing empathetic support to those involved. Your highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team enable you to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders. In times of crisis, you can assume responsibility calmly and take decisive action. Your comprehensive knowledge of legislation, reporting processes, and thresholds is up-to-date.

  • Minimum 2 years experience working with children and families in a Safeguarding capacity.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • Exceptional verbal and written English skills
  • Ability to assume responsibility during a crisis calmly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work proactively with initiative.
