Trade Settlements AVP

This role offers an exciting opportunity to support the Group Operations in day-to-day operational, settlement and administrative matters, delivering quality support and services to the Business Units.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of financial markets, trade lifecycle and settlement frameworks, with exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving agility.

What you'll do:

As a Trade Settlements AVP, your role will be pivotal in supporting the Group Operations in their daily operational, settlement and administrative matters. You will be responsible for processing various transactions including loan disbursements, treasury trades, sales and purchases. Your excellent problem-solving skills will be utilised as you collaborate with various stakeholders to address and resolve trade settlements issues. Your keen eye for detail will be essential as you monitor payments, follow up on non-receipts until closure and support system testing among other responsibilities. Your ability to fine-tune procedures and work processes will contribute significantly towards enhancing productivity within the team.

  • Processing and settlements for loan disbursement, treasury trades, sales and purchase transactions.
  • Setting up accounts in payment systems.
  • Monitoring and tracking on-time payments, following up on non-receipts till closure.
  • Trade capture of loan profile, schedules and cashflows.
  • Liaising with Transaction Administrator to reconcile cashflow schedules and monitor settlement activities.
  • Collaborating with counterparties, custodians, clearing houses, banks and internal teams to address and resolve trade settlements, payment discrepancies, exceptions and escalations.
  • Supporting system testing and other ad-hoc tasks.
  • Fine-tuning, developing procedures and work processes.
  • Participating in projects, system enhancements and other ad-hoc tasks.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Trade Settlements AVP position brings a wealth of Operations and Settlements experience from a banking or finance background. You have a strong understanding of financial markets, trade lifecycle and settlement frameworks. Your familiarity with SWIFT, trade settlement platforms such as ClearPar, DTCC, Euroclear/Clearstream and custody accounts will be crucial in this role. Your exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal and communication skills will enable you to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders. Your ability to prioritise tasks, multi-task and work independently will be key to your success in this role.

  • At least 3 to 5 years Operations and Settlements experience in a bank or finance company.
  • Exposure to Syndicated, Bilateral Loans, Bonds, Deposit, Remittance, Derivatives and Treasury products.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trade lifecycle and settlement frameworks.
  • Familiarity with SWIFT, trade settlement platforms (ClearPar. DTCC, Euroclear/Clearstream) and custody accounts.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Ability to prioritise, multi-task and work with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Words).
