Our client is seeking a Trade Settlements Analyst with proficiency in Japanese.This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for performing settlement duties for the Japanese market.
What you'll do:
As a Trade Settlements Analyst, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's financial transactions within the Japanese market. You will handle a variety of responsibilities from managing settlement instructions to liaising with various departments to resolve queries. Your ability to communicate effectively in both English and Japanese will be crucial in corresponding with custodians throughout the settlement process.
- Perform JGB and Corporate bond settlement control
- Handle settlement instructions data feed, check and investigate exceptions
- Manage Standing Settlements Instructions (SSI) set up and correction requests
- Facilitate funding for account to facilitate the settlements on value date
- Generate settled/failed/commitment reports
- Conduct cash and positions reconciliation on VD+1
- Liaise with various departments/branch offices to inquire settlement queries
- Correspond with custodian on various issues throughout the settlement process (requires Japanese speaking skill)

- Experience in investment banking, preferably both in settlements and trade support functions
- Analytical nature, creativity, initiative, and mature approach to business
- Outstanding communication skills for internal and external liaison
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Macro applications
- Business level spoken and written English language skills
- Japanese language skill required for Settlements function
