Middle Office Operations, Associate

An attractive Middle Office Operations, Associate job has just become available at a reputable financial firm based in Singapore. In this role, you will be reporting to the Team Lead, who is also based in Singapore.

About the Middle Office Operations, Associate Role:
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the trade capture, reconciliations, life cycle management and client servicing for the derivatives investment business. The products are covered across the APAC markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo.

Key Responsibilities:

• Be the key point of control and support to trading (based on the trading floor)
• Set up and maintain structured products (across all asset classes) in the risk management system
• Set up and book associated hedging products
• Perform P&L sensitivity checks on new bookings and trades
• Liaise with trading, quants and risk in order to replicate new or complex pay-offs
• Maintain daily contact with risk and finance to ensure risk and P&L is captured correctly
• Manage the life cycle of issued products (such as auto-call scenarios, coupon payments, stop loss events, etc.)
• Drive automation process and participate in projects

To succeed in this Middle Office Operations, Associate role, you will possess extensive experiences within the financial industry performing middle office or trade support function. You should demonstrate a firm understanding of end-to-end trading operational flows.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or equivalent discipline
• At least three consecutive years of experience within middle office or trade support function in equity products
• Public holiday coverage and extended work hours may be required
• Controls-focused with a good understanding of risk, P&L and the impact of errors
• Able to initiate solutions, take ownership and drive issue remediation
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Able to envisage front-to-back flows with emphasis on ascertaining financial/regulatory impact
• Experience in delivering process improvement and product enhancement
• Proficiency in MS Product Suite i.e. Excel, Word
• Bloomberg, Reuters and corporate action processing knowledge is preferred
• VBA and SQL programming skills is preferred
