Deputy CFO

Save job

An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a Deputy CFO to join a highly respected private equity firm headquartered in Singapore, with a strong presence across Southeast Asia. This pivotal role offers you the chance to shape and drive financial operations at a regional level, working closely with senior partners and investors while managing a growing finance team.

What you'll do:

As a Deputy CFO, your day-to-day responsibilities will span both strategic oversight and hands-on execution. You will be instrumental in developing forward-thinking financial strategies that underpin the organisation’s success in Southeast Asia’s dynamic markets.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that align with the organisation’s business objectives and investment goals across Southeast Asia.
  • Advise the board of directors and senior management on capital allocation, risk management frameworks, and high-level strategic financial decisions.
  • Oversee budgeting processes, forecasting activities, and long-term financial planning to ensure sustainable growth and operational efficiency.
  • Manage special purpose vehicles (SPVs) as well as onshore and offshore fund structures to support diverse investment portfolios.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance of all accounting operations while maintaining rigorous internal controls and audit readiness.
  • Supervise financial planning and analysis (FP&A), valuations, and reporting functions across multiple funds to deliver clear insights for stakeholders.
  • Lead investor communications by preparing capital calls, distribution notices, and regular updates that foster trust with limited partners (LPs) and other investors.
  • Support fundraising initiatives by managing financial due diligence processes, deal structuring activities, and providing valuation support for new investments.
  • Oversee cash flow management, liquidity planning, and treasury operations to optimise fund performance while mitigating financial risks.
  • Coordinate with outsourced fund administrators, compliance advisors, external consultants, auditors, and regulators to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory standards.

What you bring:

To excel as a Deputy CFO in this role you will bring substantial experience from the private equity or asset management sector—ideally having managed complex fund structures across multiple jurisdictions. Your background should include direct involvement in SPV administration along with deep familiarity around fund accounting principles.

  • A minimum of 8–12 years’ relevant experience in finance roles within private equity firms, asset management companies or investment banking environments focused on asset management.
  • Demonstrated hands-on expertise managing SPVs as well as fund accounting processes including valuations, capital calls, investor reporting, and distribution notices.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial strategy development coupled with advanced skills in FP&A (financial planning & analysis), accounting controls implementation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record supporting fundraising efforts through effective investor relations management alongside deal structuring experience for new investments.
  • Outstanding leadership abilities with experience mentoring small finance teams; fostering collaboration while ensuring accountability for results.
  • Exceptional communication skills enabling you to engage confidently with investors at all levels as well as internal partners such as board members or senior executives.
  • Meticulous attention to detail combined with a process-driven mindset; comfortable operating within highly regulated environments where accuracy is paramount.
  • Professional qualifications such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant), ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) are preferred but not mandatory.
