What you'll do:
As an AVP, Treasury Risk based in Singapore, you will play a crucial role in independently overseeing the organisation’s treasury activities as part of the second line of defence.
- Independently review and challenge all aspects of liquidity management processes to ensure robust controls are in place and aligned with best practices.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance liquidity risk management policies and limit standards in accordance with regulatory expectations and internal guidelines.
- Monitor compliance with established risk limits and appetite across the group, escalating breaches as necessary to protect organisational interests.
- Analyse stress scenarios related to funding and liquidity resources, challenging adequacy assessments when required to ensure resilience under adverse conditions.
- Review proposals for risk appetite and limits, ensuring they are conceptually sound and support overall business strategies.
- Identify areas for improvement within existing liquidity risk measurement frameworks by assessing methodologies, assumptions, and data integrity.
- Prepare detailed reports on liquidity risk exposures for senior management and relevant committees, ensuring clarity and accuracy in all communications.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders across treasury, other risk teams, global markets, and senior leadership to facilitate effective information flow and decision-making.
- Support regional liquidity risk oversight activities spanning Singapore, Korea, India, and Hong Kong by providing expert analysis and recommendations.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements by identifying potential enhancements in the risk framework for treasury activities.
What you bring:
To excel as an AVP, Treasury Risk you will bring proven experience from a financial services environment where you have been responsible for managing or overseeing liquidity risks.
- At least four years’ experience working within a financial services firm focused on liquidity risk management or treasury functions in either first or second line of defence roles.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Risk Management, Financial Mathematics or another quantitative discipline is essential for success in this position.
- Demonstrated understanding of key liquidity risk management methodologies such as MCO (Minimum Capital Obligations), LCR (Liquidity Coverage Ratio), and NSFR (Net Stable Funding Ratio).
- Proven ability to interpret regulatory expectations regarding second line oversight of treasury desks alongside awareness of street-wide best practices.
- Experience using analytical tools such as Tableau or Power BI for data visualisation is highly desirable; familiarity with Python coding would be advantageous but not mandatory.
- Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to investigate significant issues thoroughly while maintaining accuracy under pressure.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills allowing you to articulate complex requirements clearly to both technical specialists and non-specialist stakeholders alike.
- A collaborative approach that supports effective teamwork across departments while also demonstrating initiative when working independently on assigned tasks.
- Meticulous attention to detail ensuring all reports are accurate and all policy documents reflect current standards without error or omission.
