What you'll do:

  • Take responsibility for producing accurate daily profit and loss statements across multiple trading desks by collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Oversee the month-end net asset value finalisation process for assigned portfolios, ensuring thorough valuation verification and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Respond promptly to ad hoc information requests from Portfolio Managers, senior management, and external stakeholders with clarity and attention to detail.
  • Participate actively in ongoing process improvement projects as well as broader transformation initiatives within the Product Control function.
  • Work closely with colleagues in Financial Reporting and Technology teams to ensure seamless communication and effective problem-solving across departments.
  • Support the publication and control of official P&L at Portfolio Manager, Desk, and Fund level while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the approval process for distribution of statements to investors by ensuring data integrity throughout each reporting cycle.
  • Engage with valuation control processes across all major asset classes, developing your understanding of complex financial products.
  • Assist in monitoring monthly NAV production activities while upholding rigorous internal controls and governance standards.

What you bring:

To excel as a Product Controller in this organisation, you will bring either hands-on experience producing daily P&L reports within banking or hedge fund environments or recent qualification as a Chartered Accountant from a leading audit firm.

  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Controller involved in daily profit and loss production within a bank or hedge fund environment with strong understanding of fixed income derivative and securities products.
  • Alternatively, recent qualification as a Chartered Accountant (ACA or ICAS) from a major audit firm with proven interest in fixed income derivatives and securities products.
  • Strong academic background in a numerate subject from a top-tier academic institution reflecting your analytical capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reconciliation, and reporting tasks essential for success in this role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills enabling you to communicate clearly with colleagues across departments as well as external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively within teams while managing competing priorities across varying timescales.
  • Desirable: Experience using common visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI; familiarity with ETL tools or Python programming; exposure to more than one asset class; knowledge of valuation control or independent price verification processes.
