AVP/VP Product Control (Wealth Management)
An exceptional opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional to join a leading global financial institution as an AVP/ VP Product Control for the wealth management business in Singapore. This pivotal role sits within the Global Middle Office, supporting the Rates and Treasury GMO team with comprehensive oversight of trade support, revenue reporting, and robust control and governance across a diverse portfolio of vanilla and structured products.
What you'll do:
As Vice President Product Control based in Singapore, your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around ensuring rigorous oversight of profit and loss management for a broad spectrum of fixed income products for the wealth management business.
- Oversee the control and governance of Fixed Income related profit and loss statements with a primary focus on Rates, Treasury, and Corporate portfolios spanning 20 legal entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance at all times.
- Identify areas where control gaps may have financial consequences and proactively provide strategic recommendations to address these issues effectively.
- Take full responsibility for the timely calculation, verification, and reporting of daily revenue figures to internal stakeholders while managing any arising issues independently.
- Execute various month-end procedures including thorough balance sheet substantiation to maintain financial integrity across all reporting cycles.
- Collaborate closely with Business units, Treasury Funding desks, Operations teams, Financial Control & Reporting (FC&R), Quants, and other functions to resolve complex queries related to booking, P&L attribution, accounting matters, valuation challenges, and resource allocation.
- Respond efficiently to queries concerning Structured Issuance matters, Treasury charges, bespoke transaction deals, and ad hoc issues impacting both P&L statements and balance sheets.
- Support cross-regional booking processes as well as new product initiatives by participating in projects that drive business innovation and operational excellence.
- Provide expert involvement in the Issuance and Funding booking model by validating P&L for Structured Notes Issuances as well as Structured Financing transactions.
- Develop strong partnerships with stakeholders across various functions to facilitate solution-oriented discussions and foster cross-coordination on key business priorities.
- Champion process re-engineering efforts by leveraging automation tools and digital technologies to optimise workflows while upholding industry best practices.
What you bring:
To excel as an AVP/ VP Product Control, you will bring a wealth of proven experience from roles within investment banking or major financial institutions where you have honed your analytical abilities across product control or market risk functions.
- Deep familiarity with fixed income markets—particularly rates products and structured finance instruments.
- You will possess advanced skills in interpreting complex data sets using modern analytical tools while demonstrating sensitivity towards process optimisation through digital transformation initiatives.
- Your interpersonal strengths will shine through your ability to build trust-based relationships across departments— enabling seamless resolution of queries related to accounting treatments or valuation concerns. A commitment to continuous learning combined with an inclusive mindset ensures you remain adaptable amidst changing regulatory landscapes while always prioritising accuracy in reporting
- Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications is required; familiarity with visualisation or automation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python or RPA/UI Path would be beneficial.
