What you'll do:
As Senior Manager Policy Governance and Issue Management based in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s approach to compliance by developing robust frameworks that safeguard operations.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve a global policy governance programme that aligns with regulatory requirements and the organisation’s risk appetite.
- Embed the full policy lifecycle by drafting, issuing, approving, renewing or decommissioning policies in accordance with corporate governance standards.
- Procure and implement fit-for-purpose policy governance tools; optimise processes using AI and automation to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Regulatory Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure policies are embedded in business processes and regulatory changes are tracked.
- Design robust issue management processes that identify, escalate, track issues raised by regulators or internal audit sources, ensuring timely remediation.
- Prepare comprehensive reports for executive management on governance activities, audit outcomes, and risk assessments to inform strategic decision-making.
- Lead the identification and escalation of issue management cases while driving procurement and optimisation of governance tools.
- Monitor policy implementation across both global and local entities to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the governance framework by leveraging new technologies and methodologies.
- Potentially build and scale a high-performing team responsible for policy governance and issue management throughout the organisation.
What you bring:
To excel as Senior Manager Policy Governance and Issue Management you will bring deep expertise from previous roles in legal or compliance settings—ideally within fintech or financial services—where you have successfully developed frameworks that align with international regulations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Compliance, Law or Risk-related field is required; advanced degrees such as MBA or relevant certifications are advantageous.
- 5 years’ experience in legal, risk or compliance roles with a minimum of 10 years overall professional experience.
- Proven track record developing and implementing governance frameworks at either global or regional levels within fintech, payments or financial services industries.
- Demonstrated familiarity with policy governance tools as well as AI-driven process optimisation techniques for building efficient programmes.
- Hands-on mentality evidenced by successful execution in fast-paced environments characterised by rapid growth.
- Experience leading teams or scaling governance/compliance programmes is highly desirable.
- Expertise in tool procurement, vendor management and process automation adds significant value.
- Consultant experience is considered beneficial for this role due to its strategic focus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills enabling effective collaboration across diverse teams including legal professionals, engineers and product managers.
- Strong written communication skills for preparing detailed reports presented to executive leadership.
