Product Risk Analyst (1 year renewable contract)
Our client is seeking a highly skilled Product Risk Analyst to join their dynamic team in Singapore.
This role, which comes with a 1-year renewable contract, offers an exciting opportunity to be part of the first line of defence within the Business Control Unit team of Asia Private Wealth Management (“AWM”) business. You will play a crucial role in structuring and implementing the risk management framework around product governance, trade approvals, and asset transfers. Your expertise in reviewing complex asset transfer requests, conducting independent investigations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements will be invaluable.

What you'll do:
As a Product Risk Analyst, your primary role will be to ensure the smooth operation of our client's Asia Private Wealth Management business. You will be responsible for reviewing complex asset transfer requests, conducting independent investigations, escalating issues where necessary, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will assist in reviewing product due diligence across all PWM products/asset classes before they can be offered to AWM clients. Your ability to multi-task under stress while maintaining a positive risk culture within the business will be key to your success.
- Review, assess and approve complex asset transfer requests for AWM clients
- Conduct independent investigations on complex asset transfer requests
- Escalate and present issues arising from asset transfer requests to management
- Assist in reviewing Product due diligence across all PWM products/asset classes
- Work closely with various stakeholders on risk governance related to Product Risk, Product Due Diligence and Asset Transfer
- Support general product governance framework
- Participate in projects focusing on risk and control aspects related to asset transfer, trade execution and fee control process
- Prepare and keep updated on product related information
- Facilitate new business initiatives and work with trading desk and functional support teams on these initiatives.
- Support regulatory inquiries, internal audits and compliance testing for the AWM business
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Product Risk Analyst position brings a wealth of experience from the private banking industry, particularly in the first line of defence. You have a proven track record in reviewing asset transfer requests, with a keen eye for detecting fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), and anti-tax evasion (ATE). Your product knowledge spans various asset-classes including equity, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives and banking products. Additionally, you are well-versed in regulatory requirements from HKMA, SFC and MAS perspective. Your ability to multi-task under stress, coupled with excellent communication skills, makes you an ideal fit for this role.
- Bachelor’s degree with minimum 1-3 years of relevant working experience in the private banking industry as first line of defense
- Experience in reviewing asset transfer requests from perspectives of fraud, anti-money laundering (AML), anti-tax evasion (ATE)
- Product knowledge of various asset-classes including equity, fixed income, listed and OTC derivatives and banking products
- Regulatory knowledge around regulatory requirement from HKMA, SFC and MAS perspective
- Ability to multi-task and work under stress
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in both English and Mandarin preferred as there is a need to manage mandarin speaking stakeholders and clients
- Proficiency in data analytics and Bloomberg application preferred
