Our client is on the hunt for a passionate and detail-oriented AVP, Metals Sales to become part of their vibrant team in Singapore. This role presents a thrilling chance to implement the Bank's precious and base metals growth strategies, with a particular emphasis on the Chinese market. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to optimise revenue across flow trading, physical metals, and financing businesses within the Bank's risk and regulatory framework. This position operates under the remit of the MAS Representative Licensing Framework.

What you'll do:

As an AVP, Metals Sales, your primary responsibility will be implementing the Bank's precious and base metals growth strategies with a focus on the Chinese market. You will play a pivotal role in cultivating and managing client relationships across Greater China, providing customised solutions across metals products based on their needs. Your role will also involve ensuring adherence to all regulatory rules, policies, and procedures including MAS and other relevant authorities. You will be expected to stay updated on industry regulations and adapt strategies accordingly to meet compliance requirements.

  • Cultivate and manage client relationships across Greater China to deliver against revenue budgets and strategic priorities.
  • Provide customised solutions across metals products based on client needs.
  • Ensure adherence to customer due diligence and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements.
  • Conduct pre-deal checks for 'good-to-trade' status and provide price quotes to clients through bank-approved channels.
  • Support physical precious metals trading and inventory management in Asia.
  • Execute and support the sales desk in trading precious and base metals products.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and adapt strategies to meet compliance requirements.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the AVP, Metals Sales role will bring a wealth of experience from the metals market, preferably within a regulated entity. You should have a proven track record in delivering results in sales and trading of precious and base metals. Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential for this client-facing role that faces off to Greater China clients, while fluency in Japanese would be a strong advantage. As an individual, you should be motivated, meticulous, capable of multitasking under pressure.

  • A degree in Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in the metals market, ideally within a regulated entity.
  • Familiarity with MAS, PRA/FCA rules & regulations (or equivalent) is a plus.
  • Proven track record in delivering results in sales and trading of precious and base metals.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin and English is essential to cater to clients in the North Asia region (client-facing role). Fluency in Japanese is a strong advantage to cater to Japanese clients.
  • Motivated, meticulous, capable of multitasking under pressure.
