This role is perfect for someone who thrives on providing expert guidance across all aspects of Singapore tax compliance, advisory, and controversy management. You will play a pivotal part in shaping business operations by offering insightful advice to key stakeholders and ensuring that the organisation remains at the forefront of regulatory changes.
- Play a crucial role as a trusted partner to global stakeholders, providing expert advice on business operations and new initiatives within an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
- Enjoy flexible working opportunities and access to ongoing training designed to support your professional growth and keep you up-to-date with the latest developments in tax regulation.
- Be part of a knowledgeable network where your insights are valued, and your contributions directly influence strategic decisions across multiple jurisdictions.
What you'll do:
As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be entrusted with comprehensive responsibility for managing Singapore’s corporate income tax processes from end-to-end. Your day-to-day activities will involve close collaboration with finance professionals across various functions as you oversee direct and indirect taxes, prepare critical reports, respond to complex queries, and provide valuable insights into evolving regulatory landscapes. You will also play an integral role in supporting group-wide reporting cycles, participating in international projects, and ensuring that all internal controls are robustly maintained. Your ability to communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external advisors will be essential as you help shape business decisions through your deep understanding of current tax issues.
- Oversee the completion of Singapore corporate income tax returns, ensuring thorough preparation, analysis, and full compliance with local regulations.
- Collaborate closely with the Local Finance team to manage global direct and indirect taxes, including VAT/GST exposure assessments and other routine filings.
- Provide detailed analysis on tax data such as effective tax rates (ETR), delivering actionable insights and improvement plans to senior management.
- Monitor ongoing tax assessments and payment trends, proactively identifying areas for process enhancement and risk mitigation.
- Offer constructive feedback on business transactions to ensure alignment with company policies and prevailing tax regulations.
- Participate actively in cross-border or global tax projects, contributing your expertise to drive successful outcomes for the group.
What you bring:
To excel as a Senior Tax Manager, you will draw upon extensive experience managing Singaporean corporate income taxes within both Big 4 accountancy practices and large multinational organisations. Your background should include hands-on involvement in preparing complex returns, handling controversy cases across Southeast Asia, and advising on VAT/GST matters beyond Singapore’s borders. A CPA qualification underpins your technical acumen while your familiarity with HFM reporting systems enables smooth integration into group processes.
- A degree in accounting, finance or taxation provides you with a strong academic foundation for this role.
- At least ten years of comprehensive experience in Singapore tax compliance gained within Big 4 firms or multinational corporations ensures you bring proven expertise.
- CPA qualification is required so you can demonstrate your technical proficiency in accounting standards relevant to this position.
- Demonstrated ability to handle SEA region tax controversy cases means you can resolve challenging situations efficiently while maintaining positive relationships.
- Familiarity with corporate income tax as well as VAT/GST regimes in other jurisdictions would be highly advantageous for supporting cross-border projects.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, reporting, and presentation skills enable you to translate complex data into actionable recommendations for management.
- Quick adaptability when collaborating across functions with people from diverse backgrounds ensures seamless teamwork within an inclusive culture.
