Senior Tax Director - 3 Years

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Tax Manager to lead and manage tax advisory services for corporate mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in providing strategic tax planning, due diligence, and post-transaction support for complex cross-border transactions. This role requires a deep understanding of international tax laws, strong leadership abilities, and exceptional client management skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Due Diligence: Lead comprehensive tax due diligence processes for M&A transactions, identifying potential tax risks and opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations to clients.
  • International Tax Structuring: Design and implement tax-efficient structures for cross-border transactions, considering the tax implications in multiple jurisdictions and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and treaties.
  • Post-Transaction Tax Planning: Develop and execute post-transaction tax strategies to optimize the tax position of the combined entity, including integration planning and restructuring.
  • Client Advisory: Serve as the primary tax advisor to clients on M&A transactions, providing expert guidance on tax implications, structuring alternatives, and risk management.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing training, feedback, and development opportunities to enhance team performance and expertise.
  • Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal teams, legal advisors, and external stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of M&A transactions and alignment with client objectives.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations across relevant jurisdictions, advising clients on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for new business within existing client relationships and contribute to the growth of the firm's M&A tax advisory practice.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, or a related field. Advanced degrees such as a Master of Laws (LL.M.) or Master’s in Taxation are preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience in tax advisory, with at least 5 years focused on corporate M&A transactions. Experience in international tax structuring and cross-border transactions is essential.
  • Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of international tax laws, transfer pricing, tax treaties, and M&A transaction structures.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Client Management: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a strategic mindset.
  • Language Skills: Fluency in English is required and comfortable in dealing with China based stakeholders

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in managing complex M&A transactions involving multiple jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with digital tools and technologies used in tax advisory services.
  • Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and market conditions, providing innovative solutions to clients.
