Tax Manager - 1 Year Contract

Our client is seeking a highly knowledgeable and dependable Tax Manager with a strong focus on APAC indirect tax, for a one year contract position. The successful candidate will have the chance to utilise their strong understanding of financial applications and systems such as SAP, Oracle, and Vertex. With your excellent written and verbal English skills, you'll be able to effectively communicate and collaborate with various stakeholders.

What you'll do:

As a Tax Manager, your role will be pivotal in managing various aspects of APAC indirect tax.

• Conduct necessary research for projects
• Collaborate effectively with stakeholders
• Maintain organisation of APAC IDT Library
• Facilitate training sessions, particularly on Indirect Tax Compliance
• Act as project manager for potential key regional projects
• Handle audit queries, including follow up items the orgnisation
• Conduct and drive health checks for selected country/countries/ processes

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Tax Manager position brings a wealth of experience in APAC indirect tax, preferably from a big 4 or technology industry background.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in APAC indirect tax (minimum Singapore)
• Relevant indirect tax working experience in big 4 or industry (preferably technology)
• Accounting and/or legal background acceptable
• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (University)
• Understanding of how indirect taxes affect inhouse financial applications & systems E.g. SAP, Oracle, Vertex
• Strong written and verbal English skills; additional Asian language a bonus
• Self-starter and good team player
• Solid Excel knowledge (including pivot table, complex formulas)
• Good grasp of transactional detail, balanced with ability to spot issues
