An exciting Tax Manager job has become available at a multinational energy company, with a global footprint.
About the Tax Manager Role: Reporting to the Finance Director, the Tax Manager will play a critical role in overseeing the tax-related matters in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Be overall-in-charge for regional tax function across the APAC region
Explore and implement opportunities to optimise the group’s tax profile in the region, through tax planning and engagement with tax authorities
Manage the tax aspects of M&A projects in the region, including devising and implementing tax efficient acquisition/divestment structures
Supervise and coordinate with local finance team on tax audits and manage tax disputes
Manage the group’s relationship with tax authorities and other relevant government agencies in the region
Prepare regular tax accruals and other tax-related internal financial reports
Review, manage and monitor all direct and indirect taxes compliance, tax accounting and tax reporting activities in the region
Proactively build up/improve internal controls and processes to support and improve the efficiency and accuracy of tax compliance
Ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies, work collaboratively with business areas in the reinforcement of the transfer pricing policies
Manage the management fee agreements, supporting documentations and computations
To succeed in this Tax Manager role, you must have strong technical skills and the ability to work proactively to drive results. You must also be a self-starter, flexible and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Key Requirements:
Degree in accounting with professional qualification (e.g., accredited tax professionals)
At least seven years of relevant work experience, preferably with Big 4 experience and high-growth, MNC or listed companies
Strong tax technical knowledge of tax rules in APAC and regulations
Experience of engagement with IRAS and other tax authorities in APAC
Familiar with tax regulations and tax compliance across APAC countries
Experience with tax planning and tax advisory for market entry and international tax compliance
Hands-on experience with accounting systems and good knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a strong plus
Ability to manage a large and variable workload and work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirements
