Our client is seeking a Financial Reporting Specialist with a strong focus on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role within the finance team, ensuring all financial statements and reports comply with current IFRS guidelines. This includes interpreting these guidelines, implementing new accounting standards, and providing technical accounting guidance to the organisation.
What you'll do:
As a Financial Reporting Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all financial statements and reports are compliant with current International Financial Reporting Standards. You will interpret these guidelines, implement new accounting standards, provide technical accounting guidance, assist with audits, develop policies, collaborate with various departments, and prepare for upcoming changes. Your keen eye for detail, excellent time management skills, and ability to work independently will be crucial for success in this role.
- Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Interpret and implement new IFRS accounting standards and updates
- Provide technical guidance and support to the finance team regarding IFRS issues
- Assist with internal and external audits and respond to audit queries
- Develop and update IFRS accounting policies and procedures
- Collaborate with Group Accounting and other departments to drive uniformity in IFRS application
- Assist in the preparation work for IFRS 18 'Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements' due to commence in Q1 2025
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for the Financial Reporting Specialist role brings extensive knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards. You have a professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) and at least five years of experience in accounting or financial reporting. Prior experience within a large organisation or accounting firm is highly desirable, as is IT industry knowledge. Your meticulous nature, strong analytical abilities, excellent time management skills, and self-starter attitude will set you apart.
