Accountant - 6 Months

Our client is seeking an Accountant to join their team in Singapore. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support accounting, financial/management reporting, and compliance functions across eight territories in South East Asia. You will be working closely with the Finance Director and collaborating with various teams within the business. The role also includes supervising an offsite resource, providing a fantastic chance to develop your career.

What you'll do:

As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing and supporting various accounting functions. Your responsibilities will include ensuring timely completion of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes. You will assist in preparing financial statements while ensuring compliance with local/international accounting standards. Your role will also involve maintaining financial reports to support budgeting and forecasting of expenses. Additionally, you will prepare KPI financial reports for management while collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data. Ensuring compliance with financial industry regulations and identifying potential risks will be a significant part of your role.

• Manage and support accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger completion
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, annual tax and quarterly GST reporting
• Maintain financial reports to support budgeting, forecasting of expenses for effective control and monitoring of expenses
• Prepare KPI financial reports for management, highlighting key metrics, trends, and variances
• Ensure compliance with financial industry regulations and internal policies
• Identify financial risks and propose mitigation strategies or process improvements

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Accountant position is a proactive individual who can take initiative in their role. You should possess excellent problem-solving skills along with proficiency in Excel. Strong analytical skills are essential for this role as you will be required to analyse various financial data. Excellent communication skills are also necessary as you will be collaborating with different teams within the business. Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle would be advantageous.
