An exciting Finance Controller - APAC job has become available at a French energy company.

About the Finance Controller - APAC Role:
Reporting to the Finance Director, the Finance Controller - APAC is responsible for all finance operations and controls for the APAC region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee operational accounting and tax, tax advisory, define accounting and tax policies, finance control and compliance, financial planning and analysis, budgeting and long term planning (LTP), M&A support (finance and tax due diligence) and new market entry accounting and tax advisory
• Review group monthly reporting submitted by the Finance team and group reporting (CAP) quarterly
• Ensure timely and accurate closing of finance and accounting activities monthly and reporting
• Ensure timely monthly group reporting to HQ and review monthly consolidated management reporting for the Group in comparison of business targets and rolling forecast
• Oversee group year-end audit and annual corporate tax submission and review inter-company and intra-group transactions to ensure accounts are booked and reconciled timely
• Review and support the annual budget, long-term planning and regular forecasting
• Support finance and tax advisory on strategic projects in the hub
• Review Group tax filings and returns (e.g. withholding tax, VAT, annual tax returns, etc.)
• Lead the implementation of finance operations with new market entry, Joint Venture setup and M&A migration
• Perform accounting advisory to align business objectives and business partnering new market entry and investments

To succeed in this Finance Controller - APAC role, you will need to have strong accounting skills and have good communication skills to partner with the regional teams.

Key Requirements:

• Big 4 candidates are preferred. Minimum of eight years' experience across professional accounting, FP&A and financial reporting in MNC. Preferred experience with energy business and financial modelling
• Knowledge of capital intensive project cost management and accounting
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• Professional certifications (e.g. ACCA, CA, CIA, FRM) are preferred
• Knowledge of internal control principles
• Good knowledge of IFRS and international tax
• Knowledge of ERP system. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics is an added advantage
• Knowledge of Jet report and Power BI will be an added advantage
• Success-oriented and comfortable working in a dynamic, high-pressure and fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
