Financial Controller

About the Financial Controller Role:
Reporting to the AVP - Finance, you will help lead the finance team and direct their Singapore and overseas accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead team in all accounting operations for our retail, distribution and manufacturing segments
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
• Lead team in the preparation of monthly financial and management reports on a timely basis
• Perform group consolidation (multi-currency, multinational) for Singapore and overseas companies
• Manage cash flow and working capital of the group, including cash flow forecasts
• Research technical issues for accounting and tax compliance
• Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary and bankers to ensure all statutory and banking matters are managed
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
• Perform administrator duties to set up, control and manage accounting system software for all group companies, ensuring consistency with internal and external reporting requirements
• Develop and document processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls

To succeed in this Financial Controller role, you must have prior accounting experience in a manufacturing firm and possesses a deep understanding of production and retail operations

Key Requirements:

• Experience in standard costing and variance analysis in manufacturing is required
• Minimum of five years' proven working experience as a Financial Controller
• Advanced degree in Accounting; CFA/CPA certification is a plus
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and practical experience with preparing financial statements, GL functions and month/year-end close processes
• Strong leadership and change management skills
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels
• Experience in US and UK accounting operations is a benefit
• Experience in system migrations is an added advantage
