An exciting Financial Controller job has become available at a leading global management consulting firm with more than 4,000 people working in more than 30 countries.
About the Financial Controller Role:
Reporting to the APAC Finance Director, you will act as a business partner to the managing partner of the SEA business unit. You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the business unit finance function, management reporting, ensuring financial integrity and compliance with internal and statutory rules and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management reporting, performance analysis, business forecasting and planning
- Statutory accounting compliance, and audit in Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand
- Tax compliance (in cooperation with local advisers)
- Corporate governance, implementation of compliance with group policies
- Business partnership and independent advice to leadership
- Management, development and support of local finance team
- Direct financial accounting and reporting activities including activities to promote and implement best practice, both for IFRS and local GAAP reporting
- Direct preparation of reports which summarise and forecast business activities and financial position of the legal entity and various management P&L
- Execute IFRS-GAAP and local GAAP accounting policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Ensure month-end balance sheet reconciliations are performed.
To succeed in this Financial Controller role, you must have strong accounting experience and demonstrate strong business partnering to senior stakeholders.
Key Requirements:
- Commercially minded and experienced in business partnering
- Necessary to be hands-on in various areas of the accounts but also able to operate effectively amongst senior partners
- Highly resilient self-starter with a solutions-oriented focus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation and across many countries. Ability to show tact, diplomacy and able persuasive and strong in argumentation
- Experience with accounting systems and the ability to review and look for improvements
- A highly motivated team player who can work comfortably with an international team
- Ability to work independently, achieve consensus and drive action through to completion
- Willingness to look at the detail but able to provide clear advice on the bigger picture
- Open-minded, forward thinking individual willing to embrace diversity and inclusion culture
- Patience, tact, diplomacy, maturity and sensitivity to listen to and deal with complex issues
- Experience in managing senior key stakeholder relationships, including interactions with partners and senior management on a daily basis
- Readiness for occasional travel
