Assistant Finance Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all finance functions to support daily school operations, including cash flow, GST reporting, and risk management.
• Assist the Finance Manager with management reporting, budgeting, re-forecasting, and preparing Board Papers for senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and internal controls; support external audits and maintain accurate statutory and asset records.
• Lead and manage a team of Finance Executives, including task allocation, coaching, and resolving operational issues.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency across the finance department.
• Collaborate with other departments on finance-related projects and initiatives.
• Participate in whole-school events and broader organizational initiatives to support the school’s community and strategic goals.

What You Bring:

• Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification (e.g., ACCA/CIMA)
• Minimum 5 years of finance management experience in complex organizations
• Experience with external audits; education sector experience preferred
• Proven leadership skills managing finance teams
• Strong analytical skills for reporting, forecasting, budgeting, risk, cash flow, and statutory submissions
• Excellent interpersonal skills for cross-department collaboration
