Senior Operations Manager
The company is a privately owned German company which specialise in delivering multi-modal transportation solutions across the globe. The company has a complete logistics chain – combining ship owning, chartering and freight forwarding, as well as port and warehouse management and operations. We are now recruiting for an experienced individual to join the project logistics team.
Responsibilities:
-Manage the day to day activities of the Operations Team in support of executing the Project Logistics services
-Ensure the company, Singapore office and client expectations are met in accordance with the contracts and that expenditure and revenue associated with individual contracts are properly controlled
-Internal support to overseas enquiries and projects in the Singapore
-Negotiations with carries, suppliers and sub-contractors
-Develop and implement a suitable SOP for all projects in order to ensure adherence is met by Operations Team and the Client
-Hold accountability for the profit and loss against all projects and jobs executed by the Singapore office
-Regularly monitor the performance & quality of Country Client Accounts in terms of Profit & Loss to ensure the direction of the account is per Company expectation
-Ensure all members of the Operations Team are properly trained and qualified to execute their duties
-Provide day to day guidance to the Operations Team for all aspects of their work and company expectations
-Be personally available to attend any particular load out of unloading site as required
Requirements:
-Minimum 5 years operational experiences in International Logistics Industry
-Experience in the Oil and gas industry or moving of heavy equipment is a MUST.
-Have a good understanding of international regulatory and statutory requirements for Logistics operations.
-Excellent social skills commensurate with a management position
-Must have a strong character when dealing with difficult vendor/contractors
