Location: Singapore (West Side)
Report to: Senior Manager (R&D)
This leading European Optical Manufacturer company has been designing and developing optical related devices since the 1900s. Their operation in Singapore (R&D to production) is looking to hire a highly talented individual to join their ranks.
The potential candidate should be highly technical, innovative and driven. The role would be given high autonomy to conduct concepts design/testing/approval to roll out prototypes that would be manufactured locally in the Singapore plant. The potential candidate should also be able to work comfortably in a lean hierarchy (small R&D teams).
Job Responsibilities:
• Design advanced digital imaging systems and precision motion control for market-leading microscopy products.
• Personally initiate and manage the technical activities involved in the design and execution of projects.
• Ample opportunities to be attached to overseas R&D centres in Switzerland & Germany for joint product development and transfers.
• Continually seek opportunities to improve the technical development process through establishment of better test methodologies
Key Requirements:
•PhD, Masters or good Bachelor degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Fresh graduate with keen interest and strong technical competencies in R&D may also apply.
•Good knowledge and experience in digital and analog circuit design.
•Knowledge or experience in some of the following areas:
- Embedded real-time system development
- FPGA design
- Digital signal processing
- Software development using C/C++ on Windows or Linux platform
- High-speed PCB layout design
- Designing for EMI/EMC and safety compliance
•Knowledge or experience in designing digital imaging or precision motion control system is an advantage.
•Keen learner and able to work independently within a team.
•Candidates with good track record in R&D will be considered for senior engineer position.
